I took mine to be powdercoated and it came out great. The powdercoat is resistant to chemicals (oil and gas) and it generally more durable than paint. just my $.02.

Powder coat is the definitely the way to go. You can get about any color you want and it is proven to be more protective. (Proven by CASS (salt spray) test at work).

I think you could get it anodized... That'd be kinda cool.

Anodized would end up fading in the sun.

Does powdercoating the frame completely cover up all the frames VIN# markings and sticker??

Say I have 2 frames, one in great condition but with no title, the other not mounted but a salvage title, could I powder coat the good frame and just say it is the salvaged frame to get it registered? Or would that be baaaaad??

Just has one of the spedometer mounts broken off. Nothing do or die, I'd just rather have the frame I know is good on there.

hell just knock that one off.
and use a chunk of aluminum welded in its place.
decent fabricator could knock that out real quick.
dont get busted for something stupid.
not worth it.

Depends on the company probably... I had some work done for my truck resto project from a local place and he charges $75/hr. If there is work to be done to it like sandblasting, bead blasting, whatever you will also have to factor that in - I brough my stuff in ready to shoot.

I paid $200 and simply brought the frame in once I removed it from the bike.

Well mine started as a '07 model, but due to manufacturing delays and cost overruns, it should be released as an '08 model. I have some pics of the mocks up along the way and the work to date. You can see them at my super high quality website.

sweet!

that would look truly awesome with an rc swinger.

looks like you had the same gixxer headlight idea as i did.

how is the output compared to stock?
one last question, how did you mod your steering stops
with the sp2 triple tree?
