Naked Begins

Had the fairings off for a bit, finally started ordering replacement parts so I should get them on the bike next week. Here is my before set.

looks good man, everyone always runs those cheesy little fairings, but i think it would be sweet if someone cut the stock one in a cool way so that you could use factory headlight and instruments, just my .02

Im actually going to go sans fairing. I like the look of just a headlight up front. If it bothers the tar out of me Ill look into changing it later, but Ive been riding it like this for about a month and the wind isnt too bad even at 100+ mph so I think Ill be ok. Ill update as I get more parts on.

OH! and I openly acknowledge the MASSIVE chicken strips on this thing. I live in Eastern NC now, and there is nothing anywhere nearby that even resembles a curve. I plan on taking it to the mountains as soon as I can, but in the meantime, if anyone is near the Greenville, NC area and actually knows a road with a slight bend in it, lemme know.

Ok so the journey continues. Got back from playing soldier and now the work can truly begin... so far Ive managed to switch to a clear integrated tail light.... yeah... thats it... I am now in the process of installing my new headlight and front turn signals, (on my way to the auto-parts store right now) I ordered my ram-mount so I can use my smart phone as my speedometer, but it wont be here for at least 7 days, and that will be the last piece that Im just dying to get rid of, once I get rid of the antlers on the front that hold the clock and mirrors, I can put on my bar end mirrors.... YAY! I am going to do a tail fenderectomy this weekend, as soon as I figure out what exactly I want to do with the trunk lock.... I dont think I have a drill bit big enough to make it accessible through the tag so I'm probably going to have to locate the tag just under the lock.... I think.... hmmm..... that one Im still contemplating.... ah well... Ill post pics as soon as I can. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Here you go with a pic of seat lock- The second is with a 4" led strip under the tail light and is my tag light.

Finished the fenderectomy and thought Id post up. Also, I got the brackets from a forum member, but they sometimes have them on ebay too.
