Mirror Ideas

I am 6'6" tall and fairly wide in the shoulders, I can not get my mirrors high or wide enough to see without ducking. I know I should run fast enough not to need them but in fender to bumper traffic they would be nice. Anyone changed out mirrors for better visability?

Come on guys, please give up what you have done. I am also tired of looking at myself. I know someone has an easy fix.

I have been considering some mirror extenders; these genmar folks make some.

http://www.zianet.com/genmar/

I have a similar problem but not as extreme, as I pull in an elbow and move around a small bit and I can see behind through one mirror. I think just about everyone has some level of issues with the stock mirrors.

On another note, I used to love having my mirrors mounted to the handlebars on my first bike. Especially at stop lights I could turn the handle bars and sit straight up and watch the cars behind me in case one is approaching faster than I am comfortable with. You could consider bar-end mirrors.

Some people put Yamaha mirrors on.. FZ1 I think it is.

Or mirror extenders are available on Ebay.

There are also a bunch of extenders on eBay... not sure how good they work but they look like they'd push the mirrors out at least an inch or so.

I am in this boat, I'm only 5'7" and can see fine when i tuck in a elbow. I have considered "pig spotters" to make the bike more sleek. they are sooo expensive though and haven't brought myself to do it yet...

Probably a bit extreme for some, but I like the set-up on this bike, a rear facing camera

inderocker is an unknown quantity at this point
I've mounted some mirror extenders on my VTR and found they really didn't help too much. They moved the mirror up more than out... instead of seeing my elbows I was seeing my shoulders.

Wayyyy back in the day a guy named Don Herve made a batch of mirror extenders. I have a set. You might be able to get something like this made, or better yet have a batch made and sell them on this forum!
