Great idea. Needs to color match the cans and have some sort of finished edge.

Yeah, it's not finished yet and unfortunately I didn't notice it was blue in the ebay add. They were Yamaha mx fork covers so I should've known. Rough draft though.

Thanks for being honest. But could you be a little more specific?

I like the design and concept, but there is a lot going on visually with the different weave patterns and colors between the can, shield and heel guard. If there is a way to darken the shields....I think it will look fine.

I think its gotta match the pipes. However it would be a big improvement if they all matched.

Agreed,, but good luck finding some CF sheet that matches that weird weave TB used
My thoughts exactly. I made the slope at the bottom to try to match the slope of the heel gaurd on the rear sets. Like I said before I didn't see how blue they were until I got them, it just didn't show up in the pictures. These were really cheap so I figured I'd work all issues out with these and either paint them, (yellow or red), or order more of these in black. There's enough material to make a few of these and this was my second effort. All that said though, it does keeps my feet from burning which was the main point. Thanks for all the opinons and suggestions, keep 'em coming.

Great idea but the different angles don't work for me. Why do you need the horizontal part leading into the can? You must have some really big heels to need a guard that far back! :-)

A one piece vertical guard on the rise in the usual area should work just fine. If it matched the weave of that on the rear sets, then you'd really have a great look. Forget trying to match the 2bros weave and the further spacially you stay away from it the better.

My 2 centavos.

The original plan was for one peice on the rise but in full race mode, (tippie toes on pegs), my heel is way up there. I've drawn up some other ideas just haven't made a prototype yet so more pics will be coming.

I think you need what I have on mine. They're chrome ovalish pieces. If you wanna go with what you've already got, I'd suggest just painting it black.

Here's options 2 and 3. The bottom 2 are 2 Bros. low mounts with high mount hangers.

Option 2 and paint it black. Too many patterns and colors going on. Option 3 looks like you've been rear ended although its the most functional.

I was thinking RC51 style but rearended I can see. My Bro said too OCC, (chopper style) for him, I don't know though it's starting to grow on me. This is mostly for when I do track days as for the street I never really had an issue.

I'm being picky when I say that. If your on the fence, go with #3 for sure.

I'm really in between right now that's why I'm asking others. I really liked the tucked in look of the highmounts but I like the sound and ease of no heat shields of the low mounts. If I was sure I would use what I REALLY liked and screw what anyone else thinks.

Somebody in this forum I think put me on to Dennis Kirk for "Cobra Heat Shields ". Looked it up and it is part # 442701 but never got around to ordering it. Theres a couple of different sizes to choose from. Good luck, hope this helps.
