Header polish recommendation?

Can anyone recommend a header polish? They get to be a nice blue color (some people hate it but I think it's cool). Since the front cylinder header pipe is exposed to the elements, muddy water splashed and baked onto the pipe, making it sort of ceramic-coated looking (benefit?)

I'd like to clean it off. Standard stainless steel polish at WalMart?

I haven't tried it but I know that semi truck supply places have polishes to remove the blue from chrome exhaust stacks... of course any decent polish will probably work. Another idea would be to have the pipes coated with a high temp coating like Jet Hot.

Polishing the header's SS with some hard compounds will bring out a brown color. Only way to make em shiny is to send em to Jet-hot. Like RickB said.

Simichrome is the old standby.

Re: Header polish recommendation?

I don't want to remove the blue, just the dirt-splash-bake. Maybe steel wool?
