Re: frame sliders

Ok, the punctuation has finally pissed me off. I'm having quite a time trying to visualize you mounting some 89 pound frame sliders to your bike. Doesn't that affect acceleration?

Nice! They help the spring rate. . .and raise the center of gravity, which as we all know is waaaaay to low!

OK, so do the S&W's get bent out of shape or hold up alright on a 70mph lowside?

My friends say I should buy the ones that I have to cut the fairing for. And it would seem not the best idea to put such a device on a bracket, rather than bolt it straight to the frame. Any consensus?

when bolted straight to the frame the chances of your frame being tweaked are greater. The "bracket" ones keep you from cutting bodywork, and hopefully spread the forces of impact better, thus reducing frame damage. I think :-? I have no expecience with sliders, other than installation

My buddy lowsided his GSXR 1000 on the track at about that speed and although his weren't S&W they were the same design and held up nicely. I, like slo1, haven't had to test mine as of yet but you know what they say, there's 2 kinds of track riders, the one's who've crashed and the one's who will.
