Hi, I was wondering if another bike clip on bars would work that might move up the riding position rather than using Heli (cheaper). I believe it is a 41mm fork...someone mentioned using a VFR...anybody used anything?

Search the forum and you should find a wealth of information on what works. Personally I went with the Helibars and haven't looked back since.

 

Search on VFR bars - The difference in height is about an inch, but it makes a difference.

 

Thanks...I looked up VFR bars...lots of info...looks like the 97 is good...is it a solid bar..?and how much would be a good price used?

 

The solid is what I have along with Throttlemeister bar ends and I think it works quite well. If you go with the solid you need to get a set with the ends or plan on picking some up as the VTR ends are different
I picked up my bars a couple years back - keep checking ebay. When I got mine they were ~$50 for the set

 

Have you looked into the superbike bar mod? It is by far the best bang for your buck as far as ergonomic mods go. It really makes the bike feel more like a touring bike. Best mod I have done yet.
