cbr tail

Hi guys
I know its been done ,but this is my version of the cbr 1000rr tail on a hawk
Tried it straight on ,way too long
Name: Picture155.jpg
Views: 1635
Size: 101.2 KB
So cut 55mm from centre of subframe, and extended the btm rail to mate it up to the hawk frame.
Name: Picture203.jpg
Views: 1026
Size: 153.2 KB
This caused a problem with the cbr undertray, would not fit.
so fabricated one out of alloy, and also a battery box
Name: Picture205.jpg
Views: 1005
Size: 149.7 KB
Made up some exhaust hangers

Then the fun bit trying to fit the electrics under the seat
Name: Picture206.jpg
Views: 985
Size: 161.6 KB
My hawk before
Name: Picture015.jpg
Views: 1079
Size: 260.0 KB
And after
Name: Picture211.jpg
Views: 1479
Size: 214.1 KB
Name: Picture213.jpg
Views: 1183
Size: 175.0 KB
Name: Picture212.jpg
Views: 1258
Size: 197.6 KB
And also have a carbon tail so I can swap anytime

This is no show bike, and my first time doing this type of thing,so comments good or bad is fine.
I would of loved to go higher with the pipes, but cost was a issue.
Next year I'll be hoping to have a crack in doing the rc51 front end swap
Tweety and hawk have been giving me great info about this mod
thanks guys.

cheers

Erno,
Nice work. What type of mirror/turn signals are those? Bolt-on, or did you have to modify them?

Mirrors off a gixxer, pain in the **** to fit ,tried spacers.
In the end got the ***** with it,and tigged them onto the hawks mirror base
The stem wont move lol,but the mirror has a bit of play ,so not to bad.

I like the job but it makes me want to see the front of a cbr fairing on it. That would be trick. How hard could it be? C'mon chuck it on there!

Nicely done very professional looking!

The subframe looks like cast aluminum, is that hard to Tig and keep structural?

Is aluminium, all we did was cut it and Tigged it,and no need to brace
Have had no probs with cracks in frame yet

Looks good bruddah, but how are those polished fork legs? Do you have to do much maintenance on them much to keep them looking so sharp?

You could also get some more space under the seat if you went to stick coils....

Catch up soon yes?
