i'm looking for something cheap that'll install easily. my old flush mounts (bulb burned out non replacable unit) attached with a plastic nut that threaded onto the base. suggestions? i've searched seems like the LP XI are the cheap hot ticket thought i'd ask about these tho.

thanks

Hey Andy. Make sure the bulb is not replaceable in the old unit. It sounds like mine and turns out the metal end is a snap off socket with the spring fingers all around. Mine are clear so take a small base amber dual filament bulb that is a bit hard to find, but the bulb can be swapped out without even removing the light. Yours might be different but it's worth a look. I was checking how hard it would be to take the lens off when I "broke" mine and discovered they come apart. If they are like mine be careful of the ground wire breaking off. Think it's the black with white tracer, but whichever one is just soldered to the base will not take much flexing.

Those are the same signals I'm using. Te nut they come with will keep them from popping out the side, but will not hold them in place. I simply used some Liquid Nails to keep them in place.

the golf ball texture is nice.there is this episode of myth busters and they cover a ford taurus in 900 lb of clay and then golf ball texture the whole thing. They increased the gas mileage a whole 3-4 mpgs even though they added something crazy like 900 lbs JIYWTK!
