All Present And Correct
Two years on the Storm lives.
When I got it the thing was stock standard and a little worse for wear, but the speedo was good at 9,000Klms.
A blank canvass so to speak. having owned some early ducatis I knew this thing had potential!
Here are 3 pics and you will have to look hard to see the mods.
That's the whole idea with my storm, subtle!
The list is long, too long to post, but not as long as some on here.
Go on, admit it blokes you've got the disease and you just can't stop tinkering.
That is what is so engaging about these bikes, No matter what you do, no matter how big or small, when you ride the bike you can sense the change.I did the Airfilter mod the other day and when I rode the bike there was a change in the power delivery and the engine was smoother. When I did the lightened Flywheel, the 4 Degree Ignition Advancer, Electric water pump and removed the anti rattle gear on the primary drive as well as the water pump drive gear and chain(All of this was done in an effort to reduce the reciprocal mass of the engine and make the engine spin up quicker to get the motor into the meaty part of the torque quicker- It worked!) the motor developed a vibration in the 3500- 4000 Rpm range. Now with the air filter mod this has almost gone.
I can assure you that the suspension is sorted, carbs done, and the braced swinger makes a world of difference.
I hope this is right!
Cheers from OZ!

Thanks Hawkster.
To get my bike to this stage there have been many mods, some big some small but most brought about by forums such as this.
First up was the cans followed by rear shock sim, then there was the Allen Screws everywhere that they could go.
Then the back shock was serviced and I did the fork mods when I changed the oil.
Yes, then it actually handled although it was stressed when pushed hard.
Then I went on a big trip to Europe that seemed to last a long time(4.5 Months)
I arrived back in Oz then took a job 2400 Klms away from home that was 3 weeks in 5 days out so I shipped the Storm up and then the games began.
J.E pistons , decked head , removed all water pump gears and fitted an Electric Pump(This can be seen if you look hard at the pics) 4 degree advancer, removed anti rattle gear and fitted a lightened flywheel. All this was done in an effort to get the motor to spin up quicker to access the torque quicker, and guess what it worked.(It was Dyno jetted as well)
Now that I was going quicker I needed to stop quicker so I fitted braided lines and CBR600F4i calipers.
****! It stopped quicker so I needed a fork brace so Mr Coerce came through and the front forks stopped flexing and now the **** end felt shithouse so I made a braced swinger and fitted that along with some Dan-rear-sets
Now all is well and there have been many other mods done that I haven't mentioned.
The one thing that I love most about these bikes is that no matter what you do to these bikes, no matter how big or small they respond and you can feel the change.
I'm sure that there is still much to be done, but for now I see a bike that is streets ahead of what it was when I first got it.
A neglected asthmatic piece of ****, that had potential.
This is bike no,42 and yes there is another one on the way but he Storm stays.
I would like to see a few more bikes in this, so come on guys take some pics and enter.
I might see something that I will want to do.
Knew I shouldn't of had that J.D single barrel night cap.
Cheers!

hawxter996, your bike is something else man. basically a custom "Frankenstein" bike. i hate to say that cuz it sounds like its a bad thing but really your taking the best bits and pieces from all kinds of bikes and aftermarkets, and building it the way you want. i love it man. bravo. are you gonna keep it fairingless? it looks amazing. love the whole tail/exhaust/swingarm. one mean machine.

That's a bad *** bike.
I would love to give it a fang over my favourite bit of mountain road, but I would have to be in the right frame of mine to enjoy it.
One of those days where you and the bike connect!
Nice Bike eh?

I went for Kenmoore's bike. Hawkster996's build has potential, but its still a "build", and not ride-able. I'll definitely vote it when its a running complete bike, but its currently a paperweight.

oh you meant that one!.....lol!

Not at all, I voted for yours running or not.
There is much to be admired and to be honest I thought you would win.
Well there ya go!!
Like I said before shame there wasn't a few more bikes entered.

Well 7 months have gone by and the Hawk(Storm where I come from) has undergone a few changes.
I have done a lot of little things to the bike from an appearance point of view and think that it looks heaps better then it did before.
There a few bikes in the mix here but the Hawk, nay Storm is by far and away the most engaging.
Sometimes I hate the bike because it stops me from riding the others so now it's time to empty the Man Cave but the Hawk, nay Storm is staying.
Definitely be back next year and who knows what the bike looks like by then..
Hawkter996 where are you at with yours?
Here's mine now as it stands.
Lotsa changes!
I think it looks better!
What about you?
Catchya!!!

Sadly yes.
I just don't have the time and have been made a good offer.
Some bikes are just steel and rubber to me.
I can use the $$$$ at the moment.
It will be going to a good home and I will be looking after it anyway so it's not so bad.
Goes at the end of the month but it will still visit the Man Cave from time to time.
Nice bike but the Storm does everything that I want and in my opinion is a better all round bike for the conditions here.
Have to admit that I will miss the rumble!
I have a couple of projects that need financing.
There is no way the Storm is going as I have invested too much time and $$$ into her!
The Aprillia has been like a couple of girlfriends I have had in so far as they had all the right bits in all the right places but just didn't do it for me.
Would love to be able to afford a 2006/7 RSV1000R or KTM RC8!
If that was to happen in the near future I reckon that the missus might alleviate me of a couple of dangly bits!!!!!!!!!
