New Bike

Picked up a 00 super hawk from a local dealer the other day, it has 9500 miles, and is in amazing shape, i paid a little over 4k when all was said and done. I could have picked one up on craigslist for like 3k, but they all had 2x the miles, and weren't very nice. plus it has brand new tires on it, just had a oil change, new battery, and came with a cover
anyways im keeping it stock for now in the future im doing the exhaust, helibars, and rear fender delete. its plenty fast for me, so i dont care much about improving the peformance

Very nice! Welcome to the site. Short list of maintenance is to look into replacing your CCT's. The one's on there are likely 11 years old and could tank your motor without warning!

Sounds like a good idea, looks like a straight forward job. I actually know (and trust) the guy at the dealership selling the bike (it was on consignment for a employee), he said that it was never beaten on at all, and was kept up well wouldnt suprise me if he already swapped them (I mean with new stock ones)

anyways its snowing out by me so I might as well get this done sooner rather than later

I belive i heard honda made a revised cct, does it look any different, the ones on mine have a white dot on each. Im going to harass the dealership on Monday to see if it was done, easy to do since a employee owned it

Congrats on the bike. You'll love it. You also got the fastest color...good choice.

Thumbs up

Very nice indeed! Let the mods begin! The exhaust is the biggest smile per dollar return IMO.

Welcome to the forum.

Very nice! Welcome too the forum. Too bad about getting stuck with the slower color, but you can buy the Red bodywork to make it go faster.

Im happy with, its shiny and fast, I got out of a 135mph speeding ticket when i first got it, i passed a unmarked police car in a no passing zone with no bike license, all warnings.

I paid a little more for it than I would have like to, but like i said its mint, and has new tires (about 50 miles on them) and battery plus it came form a honda dealer, so that added 500 on to the price in taxes title and dealer fees, plus they sold it at dealer prices. Also super hawks are kind of hard to come by in Wisconsin. I looked at a few last Summer on Craigslist, they were all going for about 3200-3800, but they had 15-25,000 miles, and weren't very nice, they all just seemed/felt "worn out"

Honda never did any significant revision on the CCT's... Anyone telling you otherwise is misinformed or bullshitting... It's new OEM CCT's at intervalls, or manual CCT's and forget about it... No other options to choose from...

So i took my bike out for a second time today (was nice yesterday but I hurt my knee at work), I absolutely love it, I'm glad I bought it. I bought a set of mcct's and as soon as those come in im going to install them.

On a side note i have another project im helping my buddy out with he picked up a 01 yamaha srx700 sled-$550, idiots wife though it was broke cause it wouldn't start (kill switch off) hes in jail so she sold it. its been sitting a year or two so it needs some tlc (carbs, tps, radiator hoses, good lube job)

I bought my red superhawk 2 years ago from a cnc machinest in coloumbus ohio. Came with 11,400 miles, battery tender, oil filter, oil, black windscreen, full TBR high mount exhaust, rear solo cap, and three scratches. This guy filled the tank and had it waxed when I got there to buy it. I paid 3000. The man was the second owner, he bought it in 1999 with 2000 miles on it. So it was a superfind. I also have the OEM wind screen if anyone needs one.I added new Conti SS tires, battery, -1 +5 sprockets and 530 red chain.
