My 03 Super Chicken

Here's pics of my 03. Finally got everything that was ordered at once on, her cleaned up and picture worthy. Not much done:

Watsen Design Front signals
Watsen Design Mini 5 blinkers for the rear
Jardine Polished High mounts (thanks woodman!)
BMC Race Filter
Factory Jet kit

Clueless on the needles used in the Factory kit, but it was tuned by a guy who previously owned a Hawk....

It's kinda hard to see the Mini blnkers in the rear, but they follow the lines of the oval flawlessly, almost like they were meant to be there. Discreet too. I decided on going that route vice the undertail, cause, well, all the others seemed to kinda ruin the lines abit, or were overpriced. So I thought I'de go this route till I found one I liked, both pricewise and aestheticly. Also, I could buy one without signals and put these on! They're flat black so that they match the undertail plastic more (plus it doesn't look as dirty as it really is). The front signals are gloss black to match the paint better...and so that my bike wouldn't look too much like CNI Dawgs (flat black)

Kinda disappointed in how they're not as bright as some other LEDs. Don't get me wrong, they're bright enough, but for the price you pay for them, you'de think they'de be a little brighter...that's just my nitpicky-ness though.

I really like how she cleans up. The blinkers are what completely transformed the look of the bike. Looks 10 times more modern, and the lines just flow that much more cleanly. the High Mounts did a lot, but I don't think they transformed the look as much as the signals did....

Oh, here's the pics :P

LMK what you think! She's an absolute blast to ride...never goin back to I4 engines again....even if it is still a literbike. The Twin sound alone is worth it.

The bike looks real nice, I like the highmount exhaust also and love that blue color... if I ever have to repaint my '02 I would go with the '03 model blue paint!

Re: My 03 Super Chicken

It looks really good man -- how loud are the Jardines? Love the high mount placement too, it makes the bike look more like its RC51 breathren from the back.

I really like the Candy Tahitian Blue, always have, and the paint looks like it's in great shape! When I had my 98, I had every intention of pulling the fairings/tank/tail, throwing on the Nava body, and going with this color (or the 2000 yellow -- I could never decide)...

Re: My 03 Super Chicken

iI'll post up some pics of mine after I get my high mounts & TBR headers back from the ceramic coater.
He's had them going on 3 weeks now.
Glad I kept the stock header & have low mounts to ride in the mean time.

I may need some pics of it clean w/o scratches.
Might not look so good after my 1st track day <-----squid squid squid

No hi mounts when we rode....it's a project I'm working on

I ordered the connector pipes & brackets from star cycle.
When I installed the Ohlins shock I took TBR header off & put the stock header back on.
Then took the TBR header & hi mount connector pipes to the ceramic coater in Arlington.
I found with low mounts the can gets in the way on rear wheel changes and the pipes scrape easily cause they stick out more than hi mount pipes do
I wanted the ceramic coating to reduce the heat next to the Ohlins this summer.
Also, I'll eventually get a lower fairing & it will help reduce the heat problem where the front header pipe comes close to the lower fairing

anyway it's all part of my 'grand plan'

Yep !
You will be shocked at the retail price from TBR
pipes - $200
Brackets - $100

Starcycle has a set on the shelf & sold them to me for about $175 as I remember. No bolts, nuts or spacers - only the pipes & brackets.

One connector pipe was damaged. Had to take it to a muffler shop & have them straighten one end of one pipe (was ovaled instead of round)
You'll need 2 Honda exhaust 'sleeves' for the new connector pipes ($8-$15)
You will lose your rear passenger pegs unless you make spacers & get longer bolts.
Keep your low pipes so if you want to tour with saddle bags you can change them out. (nylon bags touching exhaust cans CAN melt!)

Call star cycle & ask what he'll sell them to you for.

Hey, oicdn you may want to paint over the plate on your pics. Some people could run it and get info off it just FYI.
