99 S-Hawk - What do you think of the lower fairing???

I'm up in the air as to which lower fairing I like better. The full lower from Metisse, or the smaller lower from Magical Racing.

Check out the pics of the Metisse lower. I haven't taken any of the Magical Racing one as I have yet to mount it.

Needless to say I don't need 2 lower fairings. So which ever one I decide to keep the other will be for sale. Both are brand new, never seen 1 road mile.

Anyway, let me know what you think.

PS- Glad to see the S-hawk forum up and running.

Re: 99 S-Hawk - What do you think of the lower fairing???

I kinda agree with frodaddy in that I personally enjoy seeing the motor on the Hawk, giving it a bit diffent look from all the other sports out there... but if your a "full fairing" type of person, that's cool too...

As for my opinion.... I don't mind the lower you have shown, I like that it's a contrasting color from the upper... The only negative comment I'd have is I'm personally not a big fan of the helvetica Honda logo on the bottom... is it possible to take that decal off or is it under the clear coat? I think it's just that it's not the "standard" Honda typeface... if it was, it probably wouldn't bother me as much.

Actually the honda sticker isn't on the fairing at all. I typed it in their on my computer just to see if I wanted to order a yellow or silver sticker. I just forgot to remove the font when I uploaded the pic.

I also agree about seeing more of the motor, which is why I am going to mount the Magical Racing lower and see how that looks.

Once it mounted I'll post up and you can compare the two.

OK I got the magical racing lower mounted, I definately like it alot better then the Metisse fairing from the first pic.

So if anyone is interested in buying the metisse lower, it is for sale.

I like them both. I just got my first bike last week, a '98 Superhawk 996. Do you have a website you could direct me to get the fairings you bought. I was wondering too if you still are going to sell the fairings you're not using

The smaller lower is made by magical racing in japan. Its a real deal race lower (fully enclosed for oil retainage) There website is magicalracing.com - I think I paid $320 plus shipping.
The larger or "full" fairing is made by Metisse in the UK. I actually got it thru their US distributer which is www.wildhairaccessories.com . That lower is a 2 piece lower which is open on the bottom. Its about the same as the sharkskinz lower that you see. Doesn't quite look right and besides I needed a race lower which would hold oil, which the Metisse does not.
Anyway, the Metisse lower has been sold awhile back. But thanks for the comments.

hey,

Hey, i like t hem both, the one you are using has more aero dynamic, but the first one you bought, connects right up to the other part of the body, leaving no space between the engine cover.
oh, could you send me jthe web address for the wild hair. it dosent come up.

I think you should put the Metisse back on and sell me the Magical lower for $100 LOL! ( seriously the I like the smaller magical) It still keeps the Superhawk character to the bike.

The magical racing lower looks badass, keep it. I think I may get one for my fighter project.

Hello all. New to this site. Not new to my hawk though. I'm just kinda looking around at what people have done to their VTR's, maybe get some ideas for what I want to do to get mine to stand out. Not that it already doesn't.

Dude I like the way the full lower fairing looks on your bike.
