TrailTech Vapor Digital Gauge
TrailTech Vapor Digital Gauge
Has anyone ever tried these? My buddy has one on his XR650 and they look and perform excellent. It has speedo, tach, and water temp. What I need to figure out is how to make it work with stock speedo sensor instead of magnet on the wheel. Here's the link.
For the price it seems like a good bet to try to make work. I have a bit of wiring experience with Harleys, choppers and older Jap bikes so I'm not jumping in blindly.
I'm replacing my forks w/ an '05 R1 inverted FE & wheel and fairings w/ a Moto Guzzi Le Mans Mk1 quarter fairing and I want to shrink the gauges down to a minimum. I'll be machining my own top tree to hold the gauge cluster, small idiot lights and key switch and risers for some moto bars.

Have used the Trail Tech Vapor in the past, am using the Trail Tech Striker Striker Digital Gauge at Trail Tech Home now on my DRZ485 SuperMoto.
The TT unit uses a Hall effect sensor. .. Off the top of my head , i cant think of a way to easy make it work with the OEM VTR speed sensor.

I called them up and they told me there is no adapter to use their units with my speedo sensor so I'll have to add their magnet pickup. No big deal since I'm changing the front end anyway, I'll incorporate it on a rotor bolt.
