Hey guys Im very new to the superhawk had mine for a week, when I got mine it needed a tune up as it had been pretty much sitting for a few years so I did oil plugs k&n filter and put some good gas in her this made the. Utting out go away All but around 2500 revs to about 4000 revs when it is running there it seems to run very bad I also. Notice that I can touch the rear cylinder exaust after along ride and doesn't seem like it's to hot lime the other one any help pls

If you can touch the rear header and not burn the hell out of yourself, you are only running on the front cylinder. Time to pull the carbs and give them a good cleaning.

it seems to be a given that if you replace the stock filter on a VTR with a free flowing one like K&N, then you're going to have to play with the jetting...

dam i thought so thanks guys was hopeing it would be easier that pulling my carbs also it has high mount tbr exhaust any jetting and needle settings i should use im in san diego ca. will it hurt the motor to ride this way? thanks for all the responces

There's a great article by Hawkrider in the Knowledge Base section. It's KB #6. It will be a big help for taking the carbs apart and changing jetting.
The first thing to do is to make sure the carbs are clean. You may have to raise the stock needles by using washers. An alternative is to get a jet kit from Factory Pro or Dynojet. A search will disclose a lot of information.
