Question Brake Pad Removal

Changing front pads, but can't get the pad-retainer pin/bolt out. Will using WD40 hurt anything? Hate to break something.

Couldn't find anything using Search.
Apologies for the ignorant question.

Should not hurt anything but keep it away from your rotor and new pads.
