Yoshimura RS-3 exhaust question

I'm sure the can itself is identical to the can used on many other models. But the Yosh slip ons I've seen have a one piece can and midpipe, unlike just about any other system I've seen. So do you need the can and the midpipe? If so I'm sure nothing else from Yosh for any other bikes is going to fit, unlike if you had a separate midpipe you could just get another can. Check out ebay item number: 180042428603. It's not in great shape and it's a little expensive I think for what it is but it's a start...Maybe make them an offer it's been on there forever. I paid $5 for a right side D&D with midpipe awhile ago off ebay. Or you could probably get any brand low mount midpipe, preferably stainless, and match it up with a similar yosh can and I'm sure no one would notice...

As 'captainchaos' pointed out, the Yosh RS-3 application for the VTR1000 is model specific because of the attatched mid pipe. While the muffler body is the same as any other RS-3 (stainless,ti, or carbon fiber) the mid pipe is slip-fit and riveted to the muffler sleeve. Unlike a Yosh RS-3 slip-on for a '01-'05 FZ-1 which secures the mid-pipe to the muffler by means of a slip fit and two springs the VTR offering is all one piece per side. Also keep in mind that somehere along the production run for the Yosh VTR application they stopped offering the 'race' baffle and went to the 'zyclone' (quiet) baffle due to customer demand.

My Yoshi's were welded/pressed onto the midpipe as well.... you'll need the whole thing unless you figure out how to get a midpipe made up to match a different can.
Not knowing what parts you actually need... if your replacing a rashed can and the midpipe is still good... you might be able to take apart another Yoshi can as if you were repacking it, and slide the can onto the VTR midpipe/lower can flange... I recall the Yoshi cans were assembled with hex/allen bolts, although they may be a bit of a PITA to get them out.
Good luck.
