There was another one a few years ago in CA for sale with over 150k miles.. it certainly is a good motor so long as the CCTs don't bite you.

8541Hawk will become famous soon enough
Well that one (with 103k) is running stock CCTs.......

It's all about doing a bit of preventive maintenance and how you ride it, but that is IMHO.

The grey thing sticking backwards below the frame.. easy to see.

I think the 150k one also had stock ccts.. The chance of them going isn't huge, it's just that they are easy - cheap insurance.

I know when I did the swap my engine got a lot quieter. (not exhaust noise, mechanical noises)

agreed with the quieter engine noise, especially with the helmet off.

I remember that member clearly. Don't recall his sign-on but I remember the olive gray one piece riding suit in his avatar. To be clear, his maintenance history was x3 with the stock cct parts and 2x with the chains. 168,000 miles and sold the bike for upper twenties. $2700 iirc. Man & machine.

I believe that your talking about caffeineracer. If I recall correctly he sold his VTR with 140K on it, and he replaced it with a SV1000
