XRV1000 Africa Twin
Take 03 superhawk
Add Ducati forks from a multistrada,gt hubs and excel rims
FJR 1300 Tank enlarged to 7 Gal
Order fairing from Italy
then spend a lot of hours cutting, welding and making a lot of shims spacers
All in all it was a lot of work but it is a great touring bike that handles well and is quite comfortable for those 600 + miles a day
My test ride included a 4500 mile trip down to N Cal for those great twisties between the I5 and the Coast and then up to Reno just to see if it is still cold in May at 8000'
it looks like i'll have to add heated grips over the winter

Here's a few pics of the tank being built.
i basically cut the inside of the tank out and then made a wire frame the size of the new tank in the front. It was a lot of work but it does hold a lot of fuel.
The cooling is a non issue, in stop and go traffic the fan comes on.
The tail piece was one of the easier pieces to put on just welded on a few tabs
Just a little tip if you are thinking of putting that front end on the calipers hit the spokes so you have to machine both the fork and the calipers to get them to clear the spokes
