Wrecked #2
As some might remember, I've wrecked my first VTR (yellow) in March last year.
We've all had our arguments regarding my misfortune and stupidity & etc.
I thought I had learned something from that, but apparently NOT.
I was aproaching a corner, it looked like a wide one, I was doing 150 km/h, and all of the sudden the corner got very tight, it surprised me.
I pushed the inside of the bars, leaning the bike to almost 30 degree from the ground..
Being taken by surprinse, not putting the knee down and running on 200 rear tyre resulted in skidding alog with the bike out of the road, into the outter side of the curve/corner..
I know some of you might throw poison darts at me for running a 200 rear tyre, but that really didn't cause the crash.
Had I approached the turn with more care and less speed, everything would have been alright.
Second wrecked yellow VTR.
Let's wish myself happy healing and not throw any stones, shall we?
This will be my LAST VTR.
The only reason is that they drink too much fuel.Apart from that, I never felt it like a bike that can't be controlled.
I'm the one that needs to control myself....
Good news is,even though i fell at 150 km/h, I didn't break any bones or anything, just sliced a muscle on the right foot (muscle below the knee, on the back of the leg, can't remember the english term). left one also, but a bit less.
There is a picture attached, you can see the fuckip type of pole I hit. It has some sort of metal blades, specifically designed to cut falling bikers
It's a shame about the bike, I really loved this second one..
Last time it didn't hurt this much, that's why it all passed too easy...
This time,i will remember...the pain & the loss of the bike.
Regards and go easy on me :>

Looks like law enforcement is writing something. A citation?
My glass house is too fragile for me to be casting stones. Wish you no regrets and wish me your kind of luck with immovable objects.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
Another bike you get you will most likely have the same type of misfortune unless you learn to not do stupid **** like speeding into an unknown corner
Any salvageable parts to sell on the hawk?

We all make mistakes, and God allows those mistakes -TO LEARN FROM...
As mentioned above- Is there any parting out of this bike.... I really like that belly pan..
Besides --The the financial gains , will help with the medical bills..

I was wearing knee protectors, not the shorts alone. I'm not that retarded.
I take full responsibility for the speed though
98ILVTR: I'll disregard your remark, since it's biased.
Thank you for the words, everybody else..
btw. sometimes it's better a broken bone than a sliced muscle..

There are so many things wrong with what you did I couldn't even decide where to start. The only thing I could suggest is heal up and stop riding. You got lucky and may not have the same luck next time.

Thanks for your input old yeller. I'll take you on that first thought, with the healing, but unfortunately, not on the second.
I wanna travel using the/a bike. So I will aproach motorcycling in a different matter from now on.
Many things were learned from this misfortune.

That's a big key. I've had to learn some things through trial and error myself. But....no excuse for riding aggressively without the equipment. Plus with that fat tire knowing it doesn't handle well enough. Just be careful out there!

I had jacket (with protectos), helmet, gloves, and knee protectors (which were taken off when the pic was taken). The only thing I was not wearing were boots, but that wouldn't made any difference.
Indeed, my biggest fault was excessive speed , I was fooled by the corner...it tightened on me.. and when the low lean angle came, the fat tyre made its point..
Anyways , I do appreciate the attitude & postings.

sorry to hear it... hope you get well soon (I hear mopeds are great lol just kidding) had to say it.
If you decide to part it out if the tank is good I might be interested in it just saying...altho it kinda makes me feel like a vulture waiting on a corps , but need to ask.

I've done 8000km in almost 3 months (mostly city traffic), and pairing that with my salary & gas price, it's a bad ecuation. (I know that for some of you 8000 km in almost 3 months is nothing, but for me,is a lot)
I will always love the VTR but I want to test ride, when I'll have the chance,
a SV650N or SV1000N (2003 onwards model with FI).
I want a bike which can allow me to cruise easily and enjoy the sights.
I really love the looks of the SV 650/1000 N.
Not to mention it has a much lower fuel consumption.
That's the only twin available.
The monster is good only for short rides & is not that reliable (although it looks mad).
TL is too sporty & unstable & old.
And I'm not gettin on 4L
As far as parting the bike,I don't think I will do this because I will end up with bits & pieces. I'm trying to sell the whole thing together...
