What you pay for tire change?
What you pay for mount/balance of new tires... off bike?
Two local honda shops want $30-32ea, local Aprillia shop will do it for $25ea.
Still is a bit high to me...

25/rim is about the cheapest you can get around here. if a few of your buddies ride you might want to look at chipping in for a harbor fright changer. friend of mine has one so i get my tire changed for free. or at the track, which usually charges 10/rim.

about right for a tire not bought in that shop for mount and spin balance. I pay loss leader prices at a local dealer, and they get an additional $15 for mount and balance. prior to that it was cycle gear for best tire prices and I think about $20 a tire M & B

if you like to buy your tires on-line, you might wanna do the harbor ($89.), tape up the contact points so you don't scratch your rims, mount it on some plywood for stability, and do your own. You can balance with a couple jackstands or use dynabeads. Takes a little patience to learn if you're not familiar, but if you have some rider friends, you can help each other. Otherwise you pay the piper.

Zero dollars... I do mine by hand just like a MX tire. Lotsa lube, something to protect the rim, and a couple of good tire irons. And sometimes a swear word or two for good measure. I built what is basically a truing stand out of junk in my garage and a local shop gave me some wheel weights. I haven't had any problems yet.

one of our local shop mounts free ( wheels off the bike ) if you buy the tires from them... no they don't jack up the prices either, they are usually the best prices in town.
i also have a couple of friends that have the harbor freight setup with nomar tire irons... i usually toss him $10 just to help repay his investment.

Visit the No-Mar site and buy a quality tire changing rig. They offer models at different price points. If you split the cost with a couple of riding buddies it'll pay for itself in no time. Between my two riding buddies and me we've got about 35 bikes to keep in tires so our No-Mar Pro model gets a real workout.

Between myself and my friends I ride with -
I bought a bead breaker , tire irons , elephant snot (lube) , good static balancer , wheel weights , and a small air compressor, some clear tubing 6" long sliced down the middle to protect the rims ... after doing a few changes you do get quicker and better at it , we were all getting tired of dropping off the rims/rubber and having to come back the next day to p/u .
