What did you do with your SuperHawk today?

If you are barely getting 30mpg at 75, there might be something wrong with your bike. Cruising at 75 over a 100 mile loop, I average 40mpg. A similar test holding at 60mph netted 44mpg. Stock carbs, stock gearing. GPS verified.

I finally put on the Proton turn signals I got a few months ago. They didn't fit close enough to the fairing so I left the old gasket on around the hole to fill in the gaps. I wired them up in the strobe mode and the signals are plenty bright.

Someone try to kill us
And someone else try to kill himself
Road Ledro Lake to Idro Lake is wonderful

Today I got around to doing my manual CCTs. For anyone that's worried about doing their own, it's a piece of cake.
Only problem I ran in to was not having the 10mm allen wrench to pop the inspection cover off the alternator. Quick trip to Harbor Freight solved that problem. Oh, and the first one, I installed backwards. So when you do yours pay attention to how you have it facing. Not a hard fix though once I noticed it.
The Kreiger kit was quick and easy to install and the parts were top notch.
I did find out that the dealer I got the bike from is more full of it than originally thought. The bike was claimed to have been completely serviced, including valves being checked but when I pulled the air box the filter was FULL of seeds like a mouse had been living in there. No way that thing had been pulled apart in years. Good thing is that now that it's clean in there and the motor can properly breathe I got rid of the rich backfire.
