Well, it's off to the dyno shop.

Well, It is gonna be exciting and hopefully promising. A little info here. Over the end of the summer, I decided that a little added ponies and an increase in torque would definitely spruce up my wheelies, so I decided to put a little money into the beast.
I purchased the heads that RCVTR was selling and those were ported/polished, had Moriwaki stg 1 cams and they were milled a tenth over with 1mm bigger valves. I also got a lightened flywheel from him. I put everything together over the past 4 weekends, working on it 2-3 hours at a time. I went to time the motor and I remembered I took the cams off the sprockets!!!! well, knowing that the cams are degreed, I then needed a timing wheel to time it right. So I decided it is time to take it down to the shop and have them do it and dynotune it for best results. I am a little excited. We will see what happens, I will keep you posted.

That is exciting. Will be very interested in seeing how the dyno looks also. Can I ask about the light weight flywheel? Is that modified from stock or a replacement part. And if RCVTR is reading, what effect did it have on the bike (more importantly, any driveability or stalling issues in day to day street use?). I have mine off and apart and now would be a good time to consider changing it depending on the plusses/minuses

hey azz, I hope everything works out for you keep us updated.I'll have to check out the wheelies first hand this summer!! I'm not going to make it to the blessing this year but we'll have to get together for a ride or two.
Good choice, Ozzie. I think that's the best way for you to go. You won't be sorry!
1/2" off the diameter of the flywheel has been shown to work very well on these engines. It will idle fine. I was amazed to find out that you could take that much inertia out of the flywheel. I'm probably divulging priveleged information, but I think the statute of limitations is up.
I can't say how that single mod changed the character, but that much inertia off the crank assembly is a big change.
I noticed no adverse affect. You can still do low rpm pulls from a stop. I'm sure it was affected, but not in any normal riding that I encountered.

sweet. Thanx RCVTR. I will keep you guys posted.
Neil, we definitely have to ride together. We gonna be going on some trips toward Traverse city this year along the lake shore of Lake Michigan taking M22 from Manistee up. Check our website www.grstreetriders.com for more info in the summer.
