Update on my new non running bike
Right I've stripped down the engine had a look inside an sourced the problem, basically the cam chain tensioner had broken whch is why it was making horibble noise on starting so the damage is new cam chain tensioner new head gasket few other gaskets and a second hand head off eBay complete with valves as these where damaged to. All in all a total cost of £175 in parts and me fitting them so not a bad buy at £900 considering the bikes are going for £1500 upwards.
Should have it on the road by next Sunday as the parts take 5 days bring on the summer Woooo :-)

My guess would have been it was the CCTs that went when you described getting a non running bike. I am glad you were able to find a head for reasonable!
Consider getting manual CCTs (either buying or converting the stock ones) so that you don't experience another failure!
