Tried other twins?
3 of my 4 bikes since 1981 have been twins:
Modded '78 CX500...great starter bike (even though I'd ridden friends' bikes up to 900cc for previous 15+ years)
83 BMW R100RS...Thought I'd keep it forever. Felt like a big heavy turd after buying my 05 VTR...sold it for $800 more than I paid for it 15 years earlier.
Rode a friends 80 inch Harley 25 years ago...experienced torque, but not my style.
Rode new 82 CX500 Turbo (belonged to the Honda tech I bought my CX from)...like inderocker said, heavy and slower than my normally aspirated CX until the turbo spooled up.

I have owned a Tuono which was quite amazing. Only complaint was wind blast...but you have to ride it fast. Had to sell...kinda miss it but now I am looking at the SuperDuke.
Not great sellers...I guess PRICE? On aprilia forum you can pick a 2007 Tuono up for $7-8k.

The Tuono is certainly a nice bike. I got to ride a friend's a few weeks ago and liked it a lot. One little thing that would nag at me though, the kickstand proved difficult to get down using the welded-on stem(?). Funny how a bike with so much bling has something simple like that just a bit off.
bought a Streetfighter last week...relaxed riding position, encourages decimation of speed limits, expensive, surges/stumbles at low RPMs, and I love it...

Rode a HD V-Rod this past weekend. Only because HD sent me a gift card worth $150 of gas that could only be activated if I test rode one of their bikes! Needless to say I took them up on the offer.
Having ridden several types of Buells over the years I figured I would try the newest engine from HD just for the hell of it. The V-Rod was intresting. The low CG was kinda neat. You feel really low when corning. Having my feet way out in front was weird. The smaller front wheel made it steer a bit quicker than I thought it would with the fork rake that it had; But the lag in power, as tuned, turned me off for sure. The engine was smooth as butter & not my style at all. I won't be buying a hog anytime soon, but I sure thank them for the $150 of free gas!
