Track riders on the street...

Not sure if this is a repost but this video sure got my heart racing. Obviously overseas country, but damn these guys are good riders. Once again though, they think the street is the track. Don't worry, no gruesome wrecks!

Good riders but I think they're an accident looking for a place to happen...

Wow...that's some sick talent on a bike...but how long can you do that for on the street and expect to live? Even the very best racers crash pushing the limit. And you can't control the actions of other drivers all the time...

Curiously most serious racers would never dream of trying such stunts on the street as they have a good idea of what can happen. I remember reading years ago that Bob Hannah (former MX great and one of my childhood heroes) refused to ride on the street saying it was unsafe, quite a statement considering his feats in the dirt and on the racetracks.

WOW thats some nice riding! not for the street though, too many things can go wrong and it could easily be the last mistake you will ever make...

First I've seen dragging a hand mid-corner. Like you all have said, cool and not so cool. I'd hate to get caught up in the middle of one of their mistakes.

True... you've got to consider the fact that on the track there are gravel sides and hay bales.... what are these idiots gonna hit when they lowside in a corner at those speeds.... trees and boulders. Not to mention, at those speeds you're really putting the lives of people in the cars at risk! That bike will rip through a car like it was a wet paper sack.

Still, it makes me wonder how Rossi or Stoner ride on the streets....?

Bit of maniacal riding here. First half of the vid shot from a VTR. One of the riders is Shakey Byrne I think. A TLR, Duc and a Superhawk on their way to the races. http://www.snimci.net/video/watch.ph...80512099685914

Yeah, it'd be interesting to see how these bunnies went in real racing. They're very wobbly, which = not fast.

That Fast Bikes video is my favorite. Don't kid yourself, those guys are fast. Nuts, but fast. Shakey Byrne was a multiple British superbike winner (Champion in 2003) and had a MotoGP ride for awhile.

Greek Bunnies

Yeah, I was meaning the Greeks.

And the "Fast Bikes" video was one of the ones where, out of 3 bikes, they binned two? Or the vid where they binned just one out of 3?

And, yeah, I have heard of Shakey Byrne. I stiil race with guys who used to beat him in the UK (early in his career, admittedly; I see he is riding in BSB again this season).

I wasn't that impressed with the Greeks, either. I did like the concrete wall on the outside of that super high speed sweeper, though. Real safe stuff.
Yeah, Byrne was on the pole for the snowed out BSB opener. The Fast Bikes video I'm talking about was a field report on the VTR, the Suzuki TL1000R and the Ducati 916; I believe they binned two.
