Tires

I just noticed yesterday that I have about 2"s of cords showing on my rear tire. Any suggestions on new tires to get for her. Pretty sure I need to get it changed in the next 2 weeks!

You can get a great deal on dunlop roadsmart 2 (since they now have the #3 out and want to clear them). I got the rear for like $100 to my door (190 size). They seem to work well on the hawk. Great wet weather traction too.

What's the benefit of going to a 190 size tire? What do I have to do to accommodate it?

Was looking at the pilot road 4's

Pilot road 4's are almost twice the price. They are great tires but also give fewer miles so a pricey option.

They are much softer sidewall so absorb more road bumps.

I know I dont need racetrack grip on the street and can drag a knee on the dunlops so am happy with them. Plus I like the longer wear.

I am just looking for something that is going to wear good. I don't do any track days occasionally corner hard but nothing to aggressive. I thought the road 4's were supposed to be extended life with the hard compound in the middle and the medium on the edges? I found a set for like 280? Where did you pick up your dunlops? would I benefit with going to 190s?

I put a set of PR4s on near the middle of may. I have been very happy with them. I was running Dunlop Q2s but was only getting 2,000 out of a rear. I now have almost 5,000 miles on them and the have been great so far. Wear is starting to show a little but they still look great. I would recommend them.

Jump on them. That beats the Motorcycle Superstore price by quite a bit.

That's good price for PR4.

I have used PR2 amd PR3 and happy with them so far. They hold the shape all the way to end of life and the rear lasts 10K-12k miles for me.
