Tire recomendations

Just got a 98 vtr 1000 and it needs tires. This is my first street bike and I'm not too aggressive of a rider. I want good tires, but not the best and I would like to see lots of miles out of them. ????????????????????????????

+1 Pilot powers are great! I have the Power 2ct's but that's because I got them for cheap.

pilot powers 2ct. best tires I've ever had. never stepped out. not once. one set lasted me through two seasons (riding a track day each season) and still have plenty of meat and still grippy. I am planning on getting new 2ct's this spring but only because I intend to do more track days this year and the set I've got has gone through alot of heat cycles. they still have plenty of tread left tho.

I've had a few sets of Pilot Powers on my VTR and loved them. I switched over Bridgestone BT021's for this season, but I haven't had a chance to try them out yet. Supposedly you can get some killer miles out of them... which should do me good on this summers 4k+ mile road trip.

I highly recommend buying tires from these guys Southwest Moto Tires.
Great prices and quick shipment!

once again, i am the only one to recommend shinko 005 advance radials. they ******* rule. even in cold weather they perform great before they warm up. they are very affordable as well.

Did I mention I love tire threads?! I did Pilot Power 2CT front and Pilot Road2 rear and am very happy w/ grip and wear.

Okay, looks like I'm alone on this, again , but I use Bridgestone 020s, and they give me decent grip (for commuting, occasional sport riding, and distance riding), and decent lifespan (up - 7 to 9K depending on use). They're also cheaper than most.

+9 on the powers. I've only run conventional ones but plan to go to dual plys this year
