Throttle Locks/Cruise Controls
Does anyone have any recommendations for the Hawk? Looking to install one for those times when I want to stretch the wrist every once in a while. The last time I had one, it was on my then new 1985 Honda 1000 Interceptor.... and I can't remember who made it, but it seemed to work. I saw two dif brands sold by Chaparral in Motorcyclist: NEP Cruise Control for $15 and Vista Cruiser for $17.

Re: Throttle Locks/Cruise Controls
I prefer the NEP design simply because it doesn't interfer with tank clearance when it's tight like with a tank bag. I run a different tank and bar setup so this is very important. The vista sticks out more. Obviously no clearance issues with the throttlemeister and it's VERY nice but $$$ and not necessarily transferrable to your next bike.

Interesting suggesting here:

Though I don't know that I'd feel comfortable with it. I use the NEP lock.

Re: Throttle Locks/Cruise Controls
Thanks all.... I read all the other posts on the other sites too.... Great info... especially since I got my Two Brothers racing clipons about 3/4" from hitting the tank, I may not be able to use the locks, but I'm sure gonna try the o-ring thing first.... I'll keep y'all posted on how it goes....

I wouldn't suggest putting a throttle lock on any bike. If you need a reason why....talk to my father who had one lock-up on his Gold Wing.
BTW.....ask to see his left leg too. It's now 1/3rd shorter......and made of space-aged materials. All from a throttle lock.

There is really no way for the NEP to lock. But if you're throttle ever gets stuck, the kill switch, clutch or key will get you out of trouble.
It's also good to know that you can stop a bike, even at full throttle, using just the brakes.
