Thinking of Selling the SSSuperHawk (SPAM!)
Hello gang...I am pondering the "unthinkable"...the thought of selling my beloved SuperHawk with the single-sided swingarm conversion and the Mario Nava bodywork. I truly love the bike, love to ride it, and just to look at it. I just checked the Member Galleries, and it looks like my SSSuperHawk is number one in views at over 22,000 views. Pretty nice that folks really like to look at the pics...it's true wherever I take it. People walk up to you and ask what kind of bike it is...it quite unique.
However, as I've gotten older (52 now) I have also gotten more and more into vintage Japanese bikes over the last few years, and I'm just not riding my VTR as often as I should. Opening up garage space would be nice so, the thought of selling crossed my mind... anybody interested here on this list?
It looks good, runs great, and handles even better. I would miss having it in my garage, but reality is, I just want to move on to other projects. Ebay is probably the best way to sell it, but maybe one of you VTR-heads has lost a bike due to an accident, theft or whatever and want to replace it with one of the coolest ones around? I'm in Monterey CA and would consider delivery to 100 mile radius. (one last ride...)
The bike only has 14,617 miles on it. I know stock '98 VTR's are only getting about $3500 out here on ebay & CraigsList, but I figure with the Italian Mario Nava bodywork, the custom exhaust, and the single-sided swingarm conversion should add at least another $1500, so...any takers around $5K? I don't want to give it away, and I'm not pressed to sell it...I just want her to have a good home.
I can put up some additional pictures on Picasa Web if requested, otherwise the pics in Member Galleries show what it looks like.
Please contact me off list at: blight1@comcast.net
Cheers,
Brian Light

OMG...I <3 your bike. I have pictures of it on my computer that I used to stare at ALL the time....and still sometimes do.
I'd be all over this bike, but the "retro" bug has bitten me too, although my definition of retro isn't quite the same as yours ('93 900RR).

I rode a 900RR and it was scary fast. Nice choice! Hehe...My Vintage/Retro Inventory: 1975 Kawasaki H1-500 Mach III, 1975 Honda CB400F Supersport , 1971 Honda CB750 Four, 1969 BSA 441 Victor Special, 1969 Honda SL350 Moto-Sport....more to follow. My next acquisition will likely be a XS650 Twin Yamaha Street Tracker...then maybe...a Water Buffalo???

Good luck with the sale of that great VTR.
