We are going to get hit pretty hard, not as bad as the coast, but 6-8 inches of rain in 3-4 hours and 80-90 mph winds. That will be here in 2-3 hours. Right now just steady rain and 25 mph winds. There will be wide spread power outages and with us being out in the country, will probalby be out until tomorrow sometime at the earliest. Already had the power go off and on a couple times. Going to suck to be us for awhile.

It all over the news, even over here.
From what I see it should rip some roof sheets, flood some aera but not destroy houses, I hope it clears fast and slow down just like a regular storm.
Best of luck

We were in the bull's eye 3 days ago yet it completely missed us. Ironically, one of the deaths was from down here when a young guy hanging out on a jetty was swept out to sea.
Southeast Texas is really low and flat so the storm surge probably did the most damage.

I want to wish you folks on the coast all the luck, and the grace from God. I heard the mayor of Amarillo is trying to get funding, so you folks can stay here if you need to.
Keep your head down, and stay safe.

I'll trade you our experience for your missing the storm. We didn't get anything as bad as the coast but bad enough. No Damage to the house but we are still without power or water. FEMA came in yesterday and we finally got some ice. Been looking for three days trying to get some. With all the evacuees here and all the problems its very big pain. Didn't go to work Monday or Tuesday getting all the brush cleaned up and perishables someplace where they won't perish. Hauling in water in coolers so we can clean up a little and flush toilets. On Saturday we had a solid 3 1/2 hours of winds 60-80mph. Not a whole lot of rain during this time but after the winds passed a solid hour of hard rain and then a couple hours of steady lighter rain. Then the storm was gone, skies cleared pretty much by midnight and Sunday looked really nice. Except for no power or water since Saturday at noon.
When we drove around didn't see alot of damaged houses but tons of trees down and power lines down. The hardware store in town sold 235 $800 generators in two days. Can't find a motel room for a hundred miles in any direction. Gas is finally becoming available again after running out this weekend. And of course gas prices jumped almost $.50 on Friday. Radio is saying it is a big boon to all the businesses in the area. Every restaurant is packed and stores were sold out or lots of food items and water. It was a better Tuesday but still quite a hassle.
