Swapped my Bars...Feels like a New Bike

After contemplating raising my bars, I finally went for it. As a newly qualified senior citizen I hoped that raising my VTR’s bars would make for a more comfortable ride on my longer rides.
All my wishes have come true! My bike feels like a different ride altogether, a definite improvement!! The more upright body position (almost Standard) is very comfortable although it has taken a few rides to adjust my brain, especially at low speed I will keep the stock parts but I doubt I will ever be reverting to them. I sourced the risers from England and the bars from eBay. I shimmed the fairing up approximately 1/2 an inch at the mirror mounts and re routed my control lines. I had to splice an extension to the horn wires (just a few inches). The previously installed stainless brake lines worked well and the stock clutch line just makes it. The bonus is I did not have to trim the fairing ears as there is no interference at full lock. Bottom line, it was totally worth it!!

Moto-CNC risers on top of existing 3/4” risers...way up from stock

Way up 😎

Great to hear you're happy! That's a huge commitment and for it to pay off is awesome. Now you'll have many more enjoyable years with the VTR.

Looks good and pretty sweet that you didn't have to shave the fairing for it all to fit. 👍👌

A little off topic question for you as I noticed you're wind screen is pretty dark.
Is this a dark smokes screen or did you paint the inside black?
Ive been contemplating my factory wind screen black as there's nothing wrong with it and rather prefer it as I can spend more mo way on other parts. 😂😜😉

Now that I see how a dark screen is with the gauges it furthers my want to paint it.
Thanks and enjoy the miles on the steed. 🙏🏽👍

The windscreen is an eBay item which is similar to the double bubble style...it does reduce wind buffeting a bit and I lIke the dark look
