suspension: front forks
suspension: front forks
following previous articles written about the vtr's forks: i installed .95 springs with 7w oil and an air gap of 140mm. ( i did NOT grind down the stepped taper ). Then came the penske rear shock that puts a glaring spotlight on the forks valving. patching around the problem is exactly that... a patch.
before my last trackday i tried a little thicher oil and increased the air gap to 155mm. it was hard to tell if this was a step forward or backwards
so i pulled them back off & send them off to NY and friday they returned !

looking good ! new bushings, seals & properly valved to my style.
if your in need give greg ( aka hawkrider ) a shout.

Hehehe, Tim....who cares how they look. I wanna know how they FEEL!
Gimme some feedback, bro!
Okay, okay...get the foot all healed up first. Don't push it. If doc says don't ride then don't ride. But I expect a first ride report in a few weeks.
