Superhawk Tools List

I want to assemble a tool kit for my bike and was searching for a list of tools needed to work on the sh. I am thinking this may make a good sticky for new owners.

So, could we compile a list of all the socket sizes, tork bits and etc. needed for repairs/maintanence?

I seem to use a 10mm socket for most of the minor repairs that I have done thus far. I am not sure of the size tork bolt that removes the cover over the oil filter. That's all I have used so far...

The reason I want a different tool kit, is I would like to have a smaller tool bag for just working on my bike, instead of hauling out my huge box for minor repairs and etc.

So, any of you sh pros are welcome to contribute. Thank you.

Me lovey tool threads. Besides a good basic set of metric tools, I recommend getting the following (in no particular order):

8-10-12-14 ratchet wrenches will do nearly 90% of the work on a Honda motorcycle.

A headband mounted LED flashlight (use rechargeables).

Magnet on a telescoping stick. Everything seems to fall into the "V".

Floor jack or rear wheel stand.

22 and 27mm sockets (not usually included in a basic tool set).

Swivel extensions for sockets.

A rubber mallet.

Good luck with putting all this in a tool bag! LOL

With the exception of the jack/stand and mallet, I put most of this in an old large sock and place it in my tank bag for trips. I've used most of it from time to time but NEVER on my SuperHawk; rather for somebody else's bike.

Except for a cell phone, I don't carry anything special other than the factory tool kit and a tire patch kit for general/local riding.

Thanks, this is not something I would carry with me as much as a small bag for when I am working on my bike. I have a tool bag, but hate digging through it everytime I need something.

As far as carrying on the bike, I was thinking tire gauge, 10mm socket, ratchet, extension, and maybe a few allen wrenches. Seems like the 10mm is the most popular size on my bike so far?

Can we keep this thread serious, so that it doesn't end up moved to th bs section? Funny yes, but i think this would be of interest to other sh owners.
I don't have the factory tool kit that comes with the sh, so I am looking for options. Thanks!

In all seriousness, buy a set of metric hex keys and stick em in every hex nut/bolt you can find, keep the two or three you actually use in the kit. Also a 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 13mm, and 14mm sockets, a ratchet, and maybe some ratchet wrenches come in handy. Most bolts seem to be 10mm's.

And for doing hose clamps I keep a set of thin needle-nose pliers, for the OE spring-clamps.

Thanks, and BTW I didn't mean to sound like we couldn't have fun with the thread, but my seat removal question got out of hand and moved.
