mikster are these a direct bolt on? There haven't been any gixxer calipers around for months. Mine are fine for now but will need a rebuild in the future.

No, you have to grind a small amount off the caliper...not a big deal, but they don't bolt right on....But they sure work good!...and that is a pretty good price....odds are you will start seeing good deals pop up here in the next few weeks as folks get out and start wrecking, umm I mean riding...

Oh, yeah, now I remember. You're right - that's not much grinding at all. Is this true of all years or just some? Wave rotors and RC51 calipers would be really cool!

If I could get my hands on some billet triples, the stock tubes after Greg rebuilt them were perfect for me. I've been doing a really painless job of holding my weight to 165 so I don't think the bigger tubes are required. The triples are probably candy too but I still want to install them. Having excellent brakes is a good thing no matter what you weigh!

Damn, I'd be all over these if I thought I could actually *use* the extra brakes, but being that I dont do track days, run stock WORN-***-OUT forks....I think the brakes are the least of my concerns...heh. I roll the bike forward, grab the brakes, and release, and the front-end doesnt even rebound to the proper height, it stays partially squatted...sinks like an SOB when I jump on her too, and I'm all of about 160?? :0

Believe me Greg, when they get any worse and I get some cash, you'll be the guy to touch em. But I might cry at the thought of my bike being down for a month

It's not you, it's me! I'm moving into a fresh appt on May 1st, my whole LIFE is going to be in disarray for a little while. Much less scraping up cash for anything, gonna have to juggle my tools back and forth between my work, my dad's place, and my appt.

But that info is good to know, it's my next mod in line, but it might take a while for this one. My old Mustang had a 12 sec engine in it, but I never did the suspension or trans too well....I just like hauling ***, the handling has always been secondary to me...but this bike is beginning to change my mind.
