I have the scotts and love it, no issues at all. Can't say anything about the other one though...

98ILVTR.....I too am looking for a s/s for my 98 S/H. I thought about Hyper-pro......but I saw there were leaking issues with some of there units. I think I had seen a thread on another forum. Not bashing Hyper-pro, nothings perfect, just thought you might just need to know.

i have the hyper pro & it works really well.

but....
i bought an old one cheap w/ mount then sent it in for rebuild but upgraded
to the new model. so i ended up spending about $250.

if i was getting a new one retail i'd go with the scott. better mount & better resale value, local shops will/can rebuild it vs sending the unit in.

hyperpro's are / were well known for leaking. the new dampers have a better seal & now come with a lifetime leak warranty (iirc). mine is 2 yrs old and still in great shape.
