spare rims

id like to start tracking my bike next year and id really prefer to not chew up my tires on the track. the back is new as of august and the front has lots of life still. so im thinking of picking up a spare set of rims and running some scrubs or something similar on them and swapping them over for track days. wondering what a reasonable amount is to spend on a set of stock rims. and any thoughts about this choice, good or bad?

Having a spare set of wheels is nice. However, if you are planing to ride on the track, you will want the newest and best tires available.

Don't start doing track days. Go pick up a nice crack habit. It is cheaper and when you don't wont to do it any more there are treatment programs.

You should be able to pick up a set of rimes with rotors for $150-$200. I would pick up a spare set for mounting rain tires on if you start doing a lot of days. I wouldn't worry about running your tires on both the track and the street if you are only going to do a couple of track days a year.

i dont really wanna run in the rain, id rather skip a day then run in the rain, not my cup o teat. but id like to do a handful of track days next year. i also see what it does to rubber lol. if anything id pick up a new set of race tires and call it a day. thanks for the help.

and if i start smoking crack itll take over my other habits and i cant have that happening, lol.
