Some sort of issue

Last night I was riding the SH, and bike started to sputter and lurch at 65mph; it acted like it was out of gas, but it certainly was not. I ended up coasting to a stop after the bike just died. All electronics work, lights work, and it even starts in neutral, but as soon as I shift it into a gear, it dies. It almost reminds me of the kick stand sensor, but that still works, and the bike will not let me override it by disengaging the clutch. I think it is some sort of sensor that got fried. Is there any type of sensor for the clutch?
