I've noticed before among all his sig mods list there is no mention of MCCT, no R/R, no supension mods, no TPS... just cosmetics. Is it any wonder he thinks the bike is ****? It looks like he never addressed what's been illustrated all over this forum as a few basic requirements. You can lead a horse to water but...

I'm sorry the bike didn't work out for you. Some need more attention than others and some of us enjoy working on them more than you do. In an earlier post you said that you got your Superhawk for $1,000 so it's not a big financial loss, if any. Good luck with the R1. Good having you aboard.

I wish your next bike good luck with its new owner

Anything will give you problems. If you replaced the bad cct with an oem unit, that is your fault. If it was manual and still let loose after 40 miles, again something you did wrong. Wait until something on your r1 takes a ****, then enjoy trying to work on that mess.

Haha, R1 is a race bike, superhawk is a sport tourer... not the same category. All the same, sorry to hear you had a rough experience. Sometimes the nicest thing is just to get rid of it and start again eh?
I'm all about hearing opinions, and we all know the drawbacks of the bike, but going on a forum and straight trash talking a bike where all members of the forum are owners of said bike is not likely to be received very well . Especially to those who have taken care of theirs since new and have had no issues with them (other than completing maintenance items)...

Sounds like poor installation was the cause of the second CCT failure, if this is the same bike.... then again how many full M4 exhausts systems are out there in the state of WA?????

Maybe he should get a scooter. Better yet, get a ten speed. I would bet quite a few of us shithawk guys will eat that r1 up in the twisties or on the track. Why get on here and trash the bikes that these guys enjoy? What are you 12 years old?

Honestly, An unmolested hawk is pretty sweet. Once you mess with it, or any bike for that matter, they become a labor of love. By any measure, the superhawk with its niggles is still a great bike. Anyone to say otherwise is a complete ****.

I'm well past 100k miles and still running... And my engine started out early on when i started playing, as "mildly tuned", but I doubt the "mild" part applies anymore... It still get's used as a daily ride, despite various exotic and expensive parts, and roughly 130 rwbhp...
And the only times I have been left stranded, it was all my doing, bad decisions on untested stuff, nothing I could blame the bike for...

I understand the op's frustration, but it sure does sound like user error. A correct install of manual ccts would have provided him a trouble free bike for years to come...I mean it is a Honda. Have fun looking like every other squid on an R1. I just hope he isn't one of those guys that will start riding around wearing a jacket and gloves while his helmet is strapped to the bike. We have way to many of those cool liter bike riders already. I mean I feel like such a loser next to all these awesome guys on r1s and gixxers

Still loving the hell out of my Hawk... It's not perfect. I'd be happier if it got about 10mpg more, had another gallon in the tank... But it's plenty fast enough and handles well enough... It's does everything very well and even when I'm riding it as fast as I dare, it doesn't feel like I'm flogging the bike like some others I've ridden. It's a more relaxed, competent sport bike.
Oh, you can act like a Squidly Hoodlum on it... Easily... But the Superhawk is not about being flashy and impressing 16 year old boys.
