smart phone? you need this...

So this smart phone app saved my butt MANY times. It's called Radar Now!...an it does just what you think: displays local radar updated hourly. It's absolutely wonderful an has helped me avoid getting wet many times. Figured I'd spread the word, cause you know the local forcast blows lol.
Enjoy!

Is it a user submitted warning system? I had an app called cat and mouse a while back that displayed where a police car was. Most of the time it was right, but it relied on users adding the locations of the police manually, so it didn't show every cop, and was only as good as the people using it

I've been using for a few months now. It really is a good app. Fairly simple. Just does one thing and does it pretty well. I check it all the time. Sometimes for no real reason, just to see what's up. And I'm fairly sure it updates much more frequently than every hour. Every ten to fifteen minutes maybe?

I use The Weather Channel free app on the iPhone. Been using it for years. It likewise will save your butt. It updates every 10-15 minutes on the radar scope. Another app for some $ but used by storm trackers, is Radarscope for the iPhone.

The weather channel app is nice as well. I used it for a while. But I switched to Weather Bug. It allows me to keep the current temp in the status bar and a quick forecast in the screen that pulls down from the staus bar. Super convenient! Couldn't find that feature with the weather channel. I only use Weather Bug for forecast information. For live radar I exclusivy use Radar Now.

I use the weather channel app myself. It was just updated with a new look and functions. Saved my butt on the Hawk and at work from flooding a target store at three a.m. Works well.

I also bought "imapweather radio" for the iphone, a while back during tornado season. It alerts me to bad weather rolling in while I am sleeping. Very good app, but a little expensive at $9.99. It also alerts me to other zones I define, so I can call my Dad if his area gets a tornado warning.

Fail on my part. I saw radar and thought it was a police radar app.

I use the news and weather app myself, although sometimes it is unable to find my location on gps or by entering my zip.

I live in SoCal I don't worry about the weather, it's mostly the same for 300 days a year!

So true! LOL! The iPhone is more a fad than a great phone. But hey someone's got to fill the 2nd place spot! LOL!

LOL! I did too at first glance!

I've been using it since I saw this post yesterday and it does seem pretty cool. I like so far. I'm thinking about checking out Weather Bug too. Sounds cool that it'll keep the temps posted on your screen.
