Riding in North Dakota, from Fargo - rent a bike
I am going to a wedding on August 1st in Fargo, ND and I would like to take an extra day to go exploring. I have found a cycle shop that rents.
My question is: Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice route? The cycle shop recommends the Detroit Lakes area in Becker County MN. I can't seem to find/see much info on this area.

The bike shop (only shop in town that rents) Sportsters for $100/day and Vrods, Dynas and Softtails for $150/day.
Any info on where I might ride is appreciated.
Thanks,
John

You won't need a sportbike up there, North Dakota is even flatter and less scenic than South Dakota. It's so flat up there, you can see 50 miles standing flat foot, and 100 miles standing on a tuna can.

I really like riding in the DL area. There are some really cool roads and curvy lake roads in the area. Plus it is less that 45 min away. I will try to pull a mapquest together for you to get you on a decent ride.
Too bad your not here on July 25th cause the dealership i work at is holding a bike run that goes around the lakes area that is usually pretty fun to ride.
