Rider down. Lucky man
Rider down. Lucky man
Came across a rider and bike in the ditch at the infamous split west of knoxville today. Head banged up, some scrapes, sore knee. Fairing, front fender and windshield are done. He said he fell asleep, must have been doing at least 70. A guy driving an F350 stopped, we wrapped a strap around the front tire and dragged the bike up and out with me on the seat. Got it on the apron, got it running, picked weeds grass and mud out of it. I rode it to the other side of the interstate and it seemed fine. The injured rider hopped on and we followed him for 5 miles. Bike and rider doing ok. He was headed home somewhere in South Carolina. Lucky man.
You rock for helping Jerry.
~10 years ago, I was driving around my town doing an errand and there was some construction on the road. Ahead of me there was a old late 70's, early 80's Kawa' 4 cylinder motorcycle. The guy on the bike was wearing a sleeveless shirt, jean shorts (which were WAY to short for a dude), and blonde work boots. I see him kind of wonder off the left side of the road and hit some gravel and the front end washes out on him. I slam on the brakes, throw 'er in park, hit the hazards and get out to help the dude. I see his right leg is severly cut up from the gravel and bleeding profusely. I ask him if he is okay and he responds with nothing. I help lift the bike back up and ask him again if he is okay. He says nothing. I mention his leg is very badly cut and bleeding bad, but get no response. He then looks at me, smiles, gives me a nod, and then starts up his bike again and takes off.
I never saw the guy again. I assume he is at home drinking a pina colada or something.
