RC51 Issues??

RC51 Issues??
I'd kinda like to move to an RC51--I've always thought it was one of the better looking motorcycles. Do the RC51's suffer from the same CCT and Reg/Rect issues that our SH's have? What should I look for and lookout for if I can find one at a price I'm willing to pay?

Besides being worthless and a PITA on the street unless your local cops are cool with 80+ so you can enjoy it I know of nothing major if anything at all. I've got 18,004 miles on mine with plenty of track time and she's never given me any problems. If street riding is what you do you will miss the 'Hawk. If you're riding the **** out of the 'Hawk then the RC might be just the bike for you. It's extreme and only comfortable 20 minutes at a time. Now the Super Duke on the other hand...

Must be the most compared /asked question on this forum... been on this forum a short time.. So going to your post of "spotbikeroads"- meaning you live in FL.(born and raised) suggest you stay with your S-hawk.
There is no where in that state that your gonna find the limits of your S-hawk (i have lived there) Do the upgrade on the forks(springs, valves) F4i rear shock. Call it a day.
I own both bikes (here in western N.carolina) and The S-hawk rides the same roads(just as fast) Just different....

That is to bad, My RC-51s sure are fun on the curvy road (Hwy 129 "Dragon's tail", Hwy 226A "Diamondback", Hwy 209 "The Rattler".
Yet You know that here in N.Carolina we ain't gotta ride to far to find a curvy road to ride....
The groups consensus is that, Unless you just got have a RC-51, Not really necessary to own one-

I'm not sure that "waymore" attitude ever referred to a motorcycle in a lesser sense. The RC-51 is in an elite class. This is not a street bike for most. This is a challenging bike for some of the best on the track..
30 mph minimum speed through parking lots in a problem.

The RC51 is a great track bike. I have never been in tune with what the front end is doing as I am on the RC.
The power delivery is very smooth and easy to ride hard - whereas an i4 literbike is not. I'm still getting to know it, and getting over a bit of nerves, but the last day on it, I was able to put my head down, ride hard and go home very satisfied.
With some suspension setup - and especially with light wheels, it is very light handling. I don't think I'll ever be limited by it's capabilities. Faster lap times are a matter of higher corner speeds, and I know the chassis will deliver.
I didn't much care for it on the street and was hoping I was making the right decision for my track bike. I have no regrets or 2nd thoughts. To me, it's perfect.
