r/r fan

hi has anyone heard of putting a small fan on the r/r to keep cool,? does it work and is it worth doing ? thanks john

there's not a lot of play room in the rear tail section, but i'm sure if it's a small enough fan and you're crafty it'll work. sounds like a good idea too, especially if you're one of the 3 people that haven't upgraded their r/r yet.

Ive seen It done. Dont remember where though. Radio shack has some small 12v fans and heat sinks.

I tried it on an aftermarket unit, but it still blew up really fast. Used a radio shack 12v unit, looks cool, but I don't think it worked.

I have read of using a cpu fan to cool it - even in the '90s FZR forum they used them. Replacing it with a finned unit from 2001+ or one of the other beefier units is the better way to go.
