any pics of HID's and angel eyes?? rough estimate on price?

gixxerjohn 01-13-2010 01:33 PM

no idea on price at this moment, i charge between 80-100 to do it, but the cost is really all in which parts you want, angel eyes are led or ccfl, and the hid's depends on if you just want hid's or with a projector and if you want the projector to be regular or bi-xenon, same with the bulb, there is regular bulbs and bi xenon bulbs....

so at the end of the day, its all about what you want, obviously the more you pay for the more you get... the most expensive one i did so far was a bi xenon projector with a clear lense and a bi xenon hid, with r8 style led's and ccfl angel eyes.....

all that stuff adds up.....

Stevebis1 01-13-2010 01:40 PM

For anyone who needs to pass inspection in NY this will have to be a bi xenon set up as both low and hi beams are required

gixxerjohn 01-13-2010 01:42 PM

actually not true, there are hid kits that offer a hi/low function, which is cheaper then bi xenon, and you can use that in a standard xenon projector...

andy9743 01-14-2010 05:52 AM

i would be interested, but know nothing of the options...price and differences would make my mind up for me i'm sure.

AdamK 01-14-2010 06:28 AM

I would like to see some pics if possible

i dont have my cam here, the wife has it with her, but there is a post from uchi with it on here, with one i just made for him......

as i said the price is always reflective of the options, and the options are listed above

this is the post from uchi.....
https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=20861

since doing this i decided that if i was to supply the parts, you would have more options, i just know that in the world of motorcycles, night riding is something we all do, and with the bs and excuses that ppl give us about not being able to see us, better light is something they cant ignore....

so again sorry i cant tell you the total price for all the bell's and whistles, but again the more i order i know the price will come down.... you can always get the parts your self and then have it done....

ttocsmai 01-14-2010 09:34 AM

I like the LED's but I would love to see one with dualing Cat's eyes and LEDs on the sides. That would give some more light at night and look pretty cool at the same time.

gixxerjohn 01-14-2010 11:22 AM

anything can be done, just tell me what you would want, and i can make it happen,

i'm a bit confused...

where are you going to get these projectors from? which HID kits would u use....

i have 3 projector housings sitting in my living room now from various cars but they arent meant for HID, although you can put one in.

i right now have a BMW projector with an H1 HID bulb from my E34.

much better lighting than stock headlight

AdamK 01-14-2010 01:27 PM

OK I am going to sound like such a newb so take your shot but here it goes… Projectors, do they do anything or is
is cosmetic? I had an HID system in my bike and removed it cause it was only a low beam and that
sucked, as much as I like the brightness I couldn’t stand not having a high beam. Also, now that I
have remove that set up can I sell that since I don’t think it was even for the SH but “FIT” so it would work kinda thing.
Also I have a stock head light housing on my SH so would I have to butcher that up to make a projector fit? Or is it a whole new assembly?
Or does this fall into that long long list of “ifs”?

I am so lost.

Red_Liner740 01-14-2010 02:15 PM

projectors designed for HID and HID kit in it are 10x better than regular reflective housing...

uchi 01-14-2010 09:37 PM

a retrofit is fantastic, its much brighter than the oem garbage and will give you a solid light plus not blind people. really with an hid and a retrofit you dont need a high beam. i ran just the hid in the stock housing and it was brighter than my hi beams were. ill vouch for gixxerjohn, the man does some fantastic work

AdamK 01-15-2010 06:47 AM

In another thread, there was talk about how getting a wiring harness upgrade or getting a heavier guage wire (can't remember exacts) will dramatically improve your headlight as well. Does that stand true for HID set ups too? As I said in a previous post I have one with only a low beam and if it was just a little brighter I may go back to it. Thoughts?

Im a dealer for lighting kits, i sell hid's and projectors, i have brand new projectors, and they we have ones from headlights..... all of mine are HID specific ones, as the halogen ones arent really ment for HID's

if you want it done right, well there is 2 ways of doing it, you can mount a projector set up inside your housing and not damage it, or you can hack the snot out of it... its all in how you do it, and how you want to go. I can remove your original reflector housing and make you a base plate to which i mount the projector/projectors.

The kits im selling mainly will be Bi-xenon kits, which will give you a high and low beam, so you have both just like a stock set up...

if there is any other questions, pls feel free to pm me and ill answer all i can for you

hid's dont require you to have a heavy duty wire harness as they draw less current then the normal headlight does, as most hid kits are a 35w kit, which is less then your standard bulb.

Now the start up on the hid kit is higher, which is why i always recommend that you run 1 step up on the headlight fuse, but other then that, nothing else to do, but plug it in, and go....

gixxerjohn 01-17-2010 09:53 AM

so far have a few ppl interested, 2 more to go till i can get the prices to drop on projectors and the hid kits....

gixxerjohn 01-24-2010 06:52 PM

up ya go,

Little_Horse 01-24-2010 07:11 PM

I have been running a HID projector for a while now and can vouche for the improvement. Its 100 times better. Further distance and clarity then you can get with a reflector, so if any one is sitting on the fence about putting one of these in I would say go for it, you won't regret it.

gixxerjohn 01-24-2010 07:14 PM

are you running a single or bi xenon ??

and thnx for the props

Syclone 01-24-2010 07:40 PM

would we be shipping you the stock headlight or would this be shipped as a do it yourself deal? What kind of price range are we looking at?

gixxerjohn 01-24-2010 07:42 PM

well there is 2 ways of doing it, either or.....

and well all depends what you want, as i told everyone else

im doing a few bi xenon set ups for ppl with led lighting, bi xenon projector and a real HID with the bi xenon for 350.....

and thats you sending it to me, the parts are about 300 bucks so im making 50 bucks on doing it.....

More than likely focal point would be off. Seen it too often....

gixxerjohn 01-24-2010 07:46 PM

well you can use it... but the problem is, you get a bright "spot" in the middle of the projection, vs a nice clean cut beam.....

but again it depends on the projector your using
