passenger pegs

Hello,

I just finished re-mounting my Microns to a higher position using some brackets that were supplied. The problem is that now there is a clearance issue with my passenger pegs (hte actual problem area is the lowermost portion of hte bracket where the pipe usually mounts). I may look at spacing the passenger peg brackets outwards to clear the pipes but was wondering about the possibility of using other (read shorter) passenger peg brackets instead. I just checked the www.hlsm.com site and noticed that the CBR900RR and 954 both use the same size bolt to mount their brackets. Does anyone know if the bolt spacing is the same (which would allow me to use a set of these brackets instead as they seem much shorter).

Any other possible suggestions?

thanks in advance

I was thinking of the same thing only using RC51 passenger pegs because both would have the hole for the hanger. The ones you mentioned only have single side exhaust so I don't think you could mount the left can. Find a donar bike and measure the holes would probably be your best bet. Or ask someone who's selling them on ebay.

Re: passenger pegs

thanks for the input

In regards to the mounting hole, I don't need it on the actual passenger pegs as I have brackets (which mount ot the sub-frame) for that purpose. I only need the brackets to hold the passenger pegs themselves, therefore, pegs from single pipe bikes would do too.

I seem to recall a post in which someone used GSX-R rear footpegs and brackets but have been unable to locate it while doing a search.

cheers

cut them off!!!!!!! i cut the mounting hole part off of mine. i did it for the cosmetic affect. i just cut them and used a bench grinder and buffing wheel to clean up the cut. they look a lot better to me and i don't think i weakened them any. i have the high mount remus carbons and it made them look a lot better.

Re: passenger pegs

Hi again,

As I mentioned previously, I seemed to recall someone mentioning successfully using GSX-R footpegs. WEll, I went to do a search on the www.micapeak.com registries site and lo and behold:

"I've found out that 96 GSXR 750 rear footpeg brackets will fit with 2 bro's high pipes. The mounting holes need to be enlarged and you have to cut off the muffler mount on the right side because it hit the pipes. Once that is done they look as good as stock and they keep the passengers feet off of the pipes. The passengers feet are placed out side the pipes not over them so there feet shouldn't come in contact with the pipes or mufflers.

Now, to find some of these.....

cheers
