Oil leak?

Hey all,

I installed Jamie's F4 shock today and in the process noticed that my oil was low in the peep hole, as in at or below the bottom line now. My kick stand has oil and dirt on it, this I knew but didn't think much of. I thought it was chain lube. I pulled the left cover and the front sprocket, and the seal looks good to me. What would a bad seal look like? Also where do you think the oil could be coming from? I know it has to be on the left side.

Thanks,

Ken

I know my rear APE CCT has a split oring on the adjuster screw (my fault) that leaks a bit. Since I see you replaced yours at some point in time maybe the gasket its self is leaking?

What I'd do, would be to wash everything down with Dawn (or Simple Green, or some other degreaser), then once clean, take 'er out for a quick spin. Then come back home and see where the oil is coming from.

It is the MCCT, The chain area was just at the same time. I put some teflon tape on the threads. I hope this stops the leak. Thanks all for the input.
