hey everyone hows it going? as the title says I am a new member on this board. i currently do not have a superhawk but i am keeping my eyes open and as soon as my 07 919 sells I will be picking up a super. I am a bronze level honda tech. Got done at MMI about 5 yrs ago and been in honda ever since. Never got to work on a super though and only got to ride one once.
so what should i be looking at above the normal bike stuff when i find one?
I am sure i will have plenty of advice and questions to go around

Welcome! Not too many things outside of the regular bike stuff to look for. Typical gremlins on these things are the CCT's and the R/R but those are easily fixed once you get the bike. All the usual after market upgrades are always a bonus
BTW I'm not familiar with the Honda tech level system- what's "bronze' signify?

Welcome!
One thing about the VTR is that you will get practice working on carbs. But since you're a tech, that should be no problem. The carbs actually are a cinch, once you get them off the bike.
The SuperHawk will surely put a smile on your face.

bronze lever is one step down from full cert.
had the 919 since new and its a blast to ride, but its time to try a different style (v-twin vs inline) and the thought of no payment is nice too. too many bikes in the world for me to keep anyone bike for too long

Well, be careful getting a Superhawk then. They are like a really clingy girlfriend. She won't leave you, and she's cheaper than the alternatives, so you just upgrade her and keep her forever.
I bought my 'Hawk as a "starter bike" after being out of riding for a while. That was over 3 years ago, and I have no intention of getting rid of her anytime soon. I've swapped her CCT's, R/R, and am in the middle of a front end swap . . . so I'm committed.

yea the "wire" around the radiator hose is there from factory, i beleive to keep it from rubbing on engine.
the box below the taillight is where honda stuck the ECM most of them you cannot see it but because my tail is so exposed you can see it real good

Need 6k for it. - corbin seat (as seen in last 2 pics)5,500.
on the 919 site i have someone interested in the belly pan. hate to tear parts off but the general population will not see the value in everything i have done to it. so i may have to sell parts so i can get the price down to 5k which is just under KBB for a 07

I bought my 2001 S-hawk after trading in a 1993 CBR900rr- and EVINES correct, you will either keep it , improve it, or even pick up her sister(RC-51).
yet they sure are difficult to forget about, when you get rid of one.
I have sold four, that i have put back together (for someone's mistreatment, or a wreck) yet each one had a different personality. And the owners, wouldn't give them up.
I still have my red 2001, and sisters
