New Boston Hawk

New Boston Hawk
Hey all,
Just saved a 98 hawk from her previous owner. I got it for a steal and could not pass it up. There was 31k on the dash when I rescued it from the obvious neglect that was happening...
Looking forward to going from my past two Gixxer 750's to a mean twin this season. I have the fortune of studying under RedVtr1000 who helped me acquire the bike and is helping me fine tune everything to my likings.
The bike was street fighter-ed by its previous owner and has been painted white. A wolf exhaust was thrown on there as well (almost literally...). I will probably be looking to try to return the stock upper for wind resistance purposes.
Looking forward to picking up some knowledge from the likes of you,
Chris

Previous owner was/is a forum member. https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...98-hawk-26625/

yea PO was a member here. Bike is in overall good condition and we took it out the other day. The hardest part is just trying to locate all the things that the PO F&*ked with so we can inspect it and decide to either change it or keep it. For instance the front axle bolt has been replaced by a bolt that was to long so the PO cut it in half, the exhaust end caps are being held on by nothing other than the licence plate bolts, there are no exhaust seals or mid pipe clamps, etc. Once we get her straight it will be an awesome bike. Luckily my garage is full of spares...

I knew he was a member on here, wasn't trying to badmouth anyone this may have been done prior to his ownership, we will never know. As redvtr mentioned its just a process in which we are stumbling upon new things that weren't quite done right. Bike was a steal and I cannot complain but I would have paid extra for a list of things that were half arsed...
