My thanks to you Fork Swappers

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who had done fork swaps and took the time to post how they did it. It certainly made the process much easier when there were no surprises. The last time I really dug into a bike was my ’90 FZR400. I jetted it, new cams, exhaust and fork springs. That was back in ’92 before I had a computer, not that that would have made a difference, since forums like this hadn’t been dreamed up yet. It sure was a lot harder going it alone, trying to figure stuff out when it didn’t go as planned. I took the bike out for a short drive around the block yesterday and it is a different machine. I still need to set the sag on it, near as I can tell, I’ve got about 19mm right now with the preload backed all the way off. I think maybe lose 22mm off the spacer and crank the preload in a couple rotations. I got a good deal on a Brembo radial MC, had some Stainless lines made up locally, rebuilt the CBR calipers and got new HH pads. Also shod the rim with Pilot 2CT rubber (to match the back), so I’ll be taking it easy for the next 200 miles or so. A new carbon fiber fender should be arriving next Tuesday. I’ll put that on and the CF lower I bought from Killemall a couple months ago. Movin’ forward. I’ve posted a couple photos in the gallery if anyone’s interested. https://www.superhawkforum.com/galle...r/3727/cat/500
